A Cycling Adventure

As I sit in the office planning various GlamperRV deliveries we have in the diary over the coming months, I’m hoping to use my bike as much as possible.  If it’s the best traffic free route out of Silverstone circuit or making my way to the nearest train station from a customers rambling Cotswold property, I always love taking the opportunity to explore on two wheels in the sunshine!

Indeed, the ability to carry bicycles, be they sleek road bikes, robust mountain cycles, or convenient foldable electric companions, is a cornerstone of the GlamperRV experience. It unlocks a realm of exploration, allowing you to delve deeper into the heart of each destination.

While our recent dispatches may have highlighted the allure of Italian lakeside cycling, this week we turn our gaze homeward, to the charming lanes and trails of England and Wales. I have found for you this week a selection of exceptional, predominantly traffic-free routes, each promising a unique and enriching adventure:

• Bristol and Bath Railway Path:
  • Length: 22.38 km
  • Traffic-Free Percentage: 97%

  • A gentle, verdant path, ideal for leisurely exploration. Its flat terrain ensures a relaxed ride, perfect for absorbing the surrounding natural beauty.

• Tarka Trail, Devon:
  • Length: 48.7 km

  • Beginning in the picturesque village of Braunton, this remarkably accessible trail offers a serene journey through Devon’s captivating landscapes, perfectly suited for family excursions.
• Camel Trail (Padstow to Wenfordbridge), Cornwall:
  • Length: 27.8 km
  • Traffic-Free Percentage: 96%

  • Tracing a historic railway line, this largely level trail provides a delightful and manageable ride, especially for those seeking a relaxed pace.
• Tissington Trail, Derbyshire:
  • Length: 13 miles, 100% traffic free.

  • An ideal location for walkers, Cyclists and horse riders. This trail is flat and perfect for a family day out exploring the Derbyshire Dales.
• Swiss Valley Cycle Route, South Wales:
  • Length: 11 miles, 98% traffic free.

  • Starting at Sandy Water Park in Llanelli, this route offers a gentle climb through Carmarthenshire’s rolling hills, allowing for a peaceful exploration of the Lliedi Reservoirs.
