A South Wales GlamperRV Adventure

The first school holidays of 2025 are upon us and will no doubt prompt many thoughts of family adventures!  I highly recommend that you shun air travel and embrace the open road this year and consider this South Wales GlamperRV adventure.

Our journey begins with a leisurely drive through the picturesque Cotswolds. Embrace the slow travel ethos and soak in the idyllic countryside. For younger adventurers, a stop awaits at Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, where you can connect with nature and enjoy a taste of rural life. Perhaps even an overnight stay to truly unwind before the main event.

Continuing our scenic route, we meander towards the charming region around Ross-on-Wye. Eastnor Castle’s Deer Park Campsite is a popular choice during the summer months. Settle in, get acquainted with your mobile home-away-from-home, and stock up on local delicacies ready for the adventures ahead.

Now, with your GlamperRV fully loaded and your family brimming with excitement, it’s time to venture west towards the rugged beauty of Pembrokeshire. Our recommended overnight stop is the highly-regarded West Hook Farm Camping, Marloes. One of our guests raved about their experience here last year, and it’s easy to see why. From puffin-watching boat trips to Skomer Island, direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and breathtaking views across St Brides Bay to St Davids, there’s something for everyone. Don’t forget to look up at night – the low light pollution makes stargazing truly magical.

For a change of scenery, head inland to the boutique campsite Digs in the Wig. This unique site, nestled in an ancient Welsh woodland, offers a tranquil escape. Located on a family-run farm, it’s the perfect base for exploring hills and after a day of adventure, what could be better than a dip in their indoor heated swimming pool? Pure bliss!

Our next stop is the coastal gem, Penrhyn Farm Camping. This 120-acre working sheep farm boasts spectacular sea views from every pitch. Situated on the Ceredigion Coastal Path, renowned for its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, it’s a paradise for nature lovers. Explore the charming seaside town of New Quay, embark on a dolphin-watching boat trip, or simply relax on the beach. Be warned: this popular campsite is small and fills up quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.

As our South Wales adventure draws to a close, how about an adrenalin fuelled final stop at Dare Valley Country Park on the edge of the Brecon Beacons? If your family includes any keen bikers, this is the perfect place to let their hair down with some thrilling mountain bike trails (and easy ones for the less gung-ho!)
